Beaucarnea stricta
'Estrellas '

[ Agavaceae ] [ Mexico ]

A breathtaking plant from the Mexican states of Puebla and Oaxaca, where it grows in dry deciduous forest. It forms a large trunk with a greatly inflated base, usually not branching before it reaches quite some height and carrying dense rosettes of narrow, stiff, blue green leaves. It is resistant to drought and can take light to moderate freezes.
